The Olentangy Orange PTO’s mission is to identify and support educational, artistic, and cultural needs and opportunities outside of traditional teaching methods, while striving to provide additional enrichment experiences.


Our NEXT General PTO meeting for the 2017 school year will be held Wednesday, April 19, at 6 pm in the OOMS Library. Please join us and participate in our discussions regarding this year's activities, goals, fundraising, budget, and other important items.

OOMS PTO Committees

Staff Appreciation Committee (Katie Weddle)

Help us express our appreciation for our teachers and staff at OOMS! Do you like to plan parties/dinners/create personal thanks? Do you just like to donate food/supplies, then this committee is for you! 

Plan/Coordinate conference night dinners through parent participation and/or catering. Work with Student Council to support activities throughout Staff Appreciation week in early May. 

Logo Wear Committee (Ayse Vellky/Holly Hanson)

Participate in the PTO’s largest fundraiser of the year. We will have team spirit apparel and novelty items for sale throughout the school year at curriculum night, conference night, and various sports events. This committee responsibilities last mainly June through November. 

Enrichment Committee (OPEN)

We will seek ideas from the teachers on programs that will enhance the student’s learning experience. Ideas: Lecture Series, Fun Events/Team Building! The opportunities are endless!

Community Rewards Committee (Elizabeth House)

Look for retail and food establishment partners to assist in earning money for our school.  Examples include: Earning for Learning at Polaris Mall, restaurant fundraisers, loyalty reward card programs (Target, Kroger, Giant Eagle, etc.)

PTO Nomination Committee  (OPEN)

Need non-board members to assist in the PTO board nominations for 2016-17. The Committee must be in place by the end of September per our bylaws.

School Supplies Committee (Christian Rassekh/Kellie Abbott)

Work with the school to determine supply needs. Communicate to OOMS as well as incoming elementary school students. List defined in April. Promote Online sales May through June. Verify school list accuracy.  Assist when supplies are delivered to school in August. Verify shipments.

Summer Camp Expo (Elizabeth House/Kelly Bond)

We need volunteers. The Expo is held in March every year. This event brought in over $6,000 for the PTO General Fund. The Summer Activities Expo, first held in the spring of 2004, makes it easy to learn about the different extracurricular activities available for children (pre-K through teen), by bringing a wide variety of companies together in one place on one night of the year.  

The Summer Activities Expo hosts a wide variety of companies that offer year-round and summer programming for kids pre-school through teen.  Generally 65+ local companies participate in this annual expo. Visiting the expo allows you to speak with company representatives directly, learn first-hand about the programs they offer, sign up on the spot and win great scholarships and other prizes from the participating exhibitors!  As is tradition at the Summer Activities Expo, scheduled demonstrations run throughout the evening at exhibitor’s tables as well as in the main demo area, showcasing a variety of programs.

8th Grade Celebration (Michele Hatfield)

We need volunteers to help plan and organize the 8th grade celebration, which includes a pool party at Orange Pool.

School Store Volunteers

The school store carries lanyards, pencils, combination locks, and a variety of other items. Volunteers are needed for 2 to 4 hours once per month. 

Author Visit

Work with the librarian to schedule author visits each year.

Attention Parents: Allow your PTO to Make your Life Easier!

As a family with a middle schooler, we’ve all had a fabulous time selling, collecting money, and delivering goods for various fundraisers over the years. And while all of us have undoubtedly enjoyed these fun activities, your PTO would like to propose something new!

We would like for you to consider this no-hassle fundraiser, one that will certainly help us reach our goals this year for enriching the educational experience for students, staff, and faculty.

$15 I do not like to bake, so here is the money I would have spent buying those cupcakes.

$25 I do not want to bother my friends, family, and co-workers, so here is the money I would have spent buying wrapping paper and candles.

$50 I do not want to walk, swim, or run in any activity that has “-athon” in the title, so here is the money I would have spent on my child’s free t-shirt.

$75 I do not want to attend any fancy gala events, so here is the money I would have spent on a new outfit.

$100 I really wouldn’t have helped anyway, so here is $100 to forget my name!
